CHAINS is the largest annual Dutch chemistry conference. It is here where chemists, from PhD students and postdocs to professors and R&D scientists, in science and industry come together and showcase the best and most exciting developments in the Dutch chemical Community.
The 8th edition of this year will be held between 8 and 9 December and it will be hosted via an online platform.

VSPARTICLE’s spark ablation technology offers a versatile method to rapidly produce nanoparticles for today’s pioneering catalysis researchers. The VSP-G1 Nanoparticle Generator (VSP-G1) is able to produce tunable (in both size and elemental composition) nanoparticles at the push of a button. These surfactant-free nanoparticles can be deposited directly onto the desired substrate using our VSP A-series deposition accessories. Our technology is currently helping researchers prepare model catalysts for advanced spectroscopy and microscopy-based studies. By simplifying the preparation method of model catalysts, our technology enables scientists to unravel the elegant complexities within today’s catalytic systems and accelerate the development of future catalysts!
The ability to quickly screen multi-element electrocatalysts is accelerated even further using two VSP-G1 nanoparticle generators connected to the VSP-P1 printer. To illustrate the possibilities with such a setup VSPARTICLE, in collaboration with Avantium, screened 64 different Ni-Fe electrocatalysts in OER in high-throughput. VSPARTICLE’s technology enabled researchers to screen the performance of 64 different electrocatalyst composition. By empowering today’s researchers with the most advanced products in our portfolio we are able to significantly accelerate the development of novel electrocatalysts.

The VSP-P1 Nanostructured Material Printer combines generation, combination and deposition of nanoparticles in one automated process, enabling you to print new nanoscale materials without directly handling nanoparticles. Examples of applications include local patterning on soft polymers and formation of nano porous thin films on different types of substrates.
VSPARTICLE has developed a nanoparticle printing technology to produce nanostructured noble metal layers by depositing nanoparticles produced by spark-discharge. The sensing capabilities of the printed nanoparticles and the nano-porous morphology of the printed layers have proven to be very effective for developing SERS substrates that enhance the Raman signal by several orders of magnitude and therefore can be used as a standard tool for chemical analysis. This has led to the development of ENHANSERS, a nanotechnology company solely focussed on the production and distribution of nanostructured SERS substrates on a commercial scale
